Bob Runyan
Founder, Educational Simulations
Lead Developer of Real Lives 2007

Bob worked during the 1980's as a high school mathematics and social science teacher, including a two-year Peace Corps stint in Seychelles, a group of islands off the east coast of Africa. From 1989 until 2002 he worked for Lahey Computer Systems, a developer of PC Fortran compilers, as a programmer, technical writer, development department manager, and for four years as company president.

Bob began developing the Real Lives concept in 1997, and has worked full-time on Real Lives since 1999. In April of 2003 Educational Simulations became independent of Lahey, its parent company.

Bob lives with his wife Kathy, three sons, and various domestic animals in the Sierra Nevada foothills an hour north of Sacramento, California.
